Coloring - Shading Anime Legs

Description

This tutorial demonstrates the steps I used to color and shade the legs for my OC, Claire: [link]

Program: Corel Painter X

First, I created a rough sketch (first panel). I shaded/hatched this first sketch by hand, and used this to guide the shading I used in the painting process.

Details of the steps:
1. Rough sketch and "hatched" shading done with "Oils Detail Brushes 15,10." In the past I would do this with pencil and paper, but these days I've gotten used to doing everything with the tablet.
2. Empty lineart, all hatching removed. Bucket filled with base skintone.
3. Darkest shadows painted, following rough sketch "Oils Fine Feathering 30"
4. Intermediate shadows painted. "Oils Fine Feathering 30"
5. Blended/Blurred previous image. "Diffuse Blur"
6. Highlights with pure white. "Oils Fine Feathering 30"
7. Blending. "Diffuse Blur"
8. Fully shaded figure. Sun highlights "Oils Fine Feathering 30." Contrast/Brightness/Saturation/Sepia.

Send me a note/comment if you'd like to see any of the steps in larger sizes.

I've been using Corel Painter X for about 6 months now with a Wacom tablet, so I'm definitely not an expert. I'd love to hear all your comments/suggestions on how I might improve or modify this procedure! Thanks for looking!!!
